About the project
Gnesin Contemporary Music Week is a youth contemporary music project. It was founded in the Gnesin Academy of Music (Moscow) in 2018. The project includes a program of different events for young musicians who are interested in contemporary music.
There are different formats in the Gnesin Week project:
- Workshops about extended performing techniques;
- Lectures focusing on relevant issues;
- Reading sessions and workshops with leading Russian composers and musicians;
- Concert performances.
The main event of the project is a Gnesin Contemporary Music Week festival, which usually takes place in autumn every year. We collaborate with many institutions and artists.
